Santa Rosa, CA—Think Tank Photo released two new camera backpack lines. The BackStory camera backpack series comprise two top and rear-opening packs. They are sized for either 13- or 15-inch laptops.

In addition, the company’s new Essentials Convertible rolling backpack features deployable backpack straps and a compact size.

“With both the BackStory and the Essentials Convertible rolling backpack, our design team has continued to do what they do best; to study how photographers work and develop carrying solutions that meet their needs,” said Doug Murdoch, Think Tank’s CEO and lead designer. “We’re excited to bring both of these new lines to market.”

“With every good story, there’s often a better backstory. The same is true with the BackStory series of camera backpacks,” added Murdoch. Think Tank designers spent hours researching, discussing benefits, developing prototypes and reviewing as well as revising the BackStory line. The end result is a full-featured backpack that serves the needs of expert photographers.

The BackStory’s rear-panel opening provides complete access to gear. Moreover, a top panel grants quick access to a camera. In addition, a deep front compartment with zippered mesh pockets has room for personal gear, including a 10-inch tablet and laptop (size-specific for 13- or 15-inch laptop). And with a plush shoulder harness and removable waist belt, the BackStory is comfortable enough to wear all day.

There is also a microfiber-lined exterior pocket for plus-size phones or sunglasses. And a customizable divider system has two cushioned pillows that shape to the gear for protection. Furthermore, a tripod attachment on the pack’s front secures a small or large tripod with a deployable cup. Additionally, a seam-sealed rain cover is included.

In addition, a top compartment mesh pocket helps organize small items; a front pocket organizer and zippered mesh pocket keep essentials handy. The main compartment pockets also give quick access to filters, batteries and cards, etc.

The BackStory 13 has a suggested retail price of $189.75; the BackStory 15 sells for $209.75.

The pack is also sized to meet most airline carry-on requirements. Moreover, with adjustable dividers, the Essentials fits two DSLR or mirrorless camera bodies; a mounted 70–200mm lens; multiple other lenses; and a 16-inch laptop in a dedicated compartment.
