Santa Rosa, CA—On the heels of a new tagline and expanded bag lineup launch, with an emphasis on travel, the Think Tank FirstLight+ backpack series for “venturing photographers” debuted.

With outdoor photographers in mind, the new series initially includes two models: the FirstLight 35L+ and the FirstLight 46L+. The photo backpacks boast a selection of pockets and accessory attachments. Consequently, the packs are geared for traveling or working in the field.

There is also ample space for long lenses and personal items. In addition, the packs have a dedicated laptop pocket that accommodates most 16-inch laptops. A contoured torso harness is adjustable at 11 points so you can find the most comfortable fit for extended wear. Plus, the packs’ contoured shape means a universal fit. In addition, they feature weight distribution for a comfortable load while on adventures.

Further, to protect photo gear, like telephoto lenses, there are adjustable, high-density closed-cell foam dividers. And photographers can take along a tripod/monopod via the pack’s mounting system on the front or side. Interior mesh pockets store filters, extra batteries, cables as well as other small accessories.

Moreover, an expandable front stuff pocket holds a light jacket, a headlamp, gloves, chargers and other essentials. Plus, a removable floating top pocket holds a large jacket or other gear. Other niceties include a large, zippered side pocket for accessories or personal items; top pockets for easier access to small items; and a top zippered pocket for quick access to essentials. Two large side pockets hold water bottles or accessories and have drains and cinch cords for added security.

Additional features include grab handles on three sides to hoist the packs into overhead bins or vehicles; side compression straps with locking SR buckles for additional lash points; as well as shoulder straps and a waist belt wrap for compact storage in overhead compartments.

Included rain covers also protect medium tripods secured to the front of the pack. And both packs are compatible with Think Tank’s modular pouches and other filter cases. Furthermore, the backpacks sport exterior fabric with a water-repellent coating, and their underside fabric has a polyurethane coating. Constructed of 420D velocity nylon, 420D high-density nylon, 420D R/S nylon, 1680D ballistic nylon, 840D matte TPU dynatonic nylon, nylon webbing, as well as 3-ply bonded nylon thread, they also have abrasion-resistant YKK RC-Fuse zippers.
