Las Vegas, NV—The compact, lightweight Canon EF-M 32mm F/1.4 STM lens for EOS M series cameras is an option for portraiture, landscape and general travel photography.
“As Canon continues to expand the company’s EF-M lineup, it is very important that users are provided the tools they desire for a variety of shooting situations,” said Kazuto Ogawa, president and chief operating officer, Canon USA, Inc. “The new EF-M 32mm f/1.4 STM lens delivers great image quality in a compact and lightweight form factor, allowing photographers to capture the images they envision when they pick up their camera.”
Moreover, it is the second EF-M lens to feature a large-aperture to deliver artistic bokeh with a soft blurred background. As a result, photographers can isolate subjects from the background. In addition, the 32mm focal length converts to approximately 51mm in the 35mm format, providing an angle-of-view close to human eye’s field of view.
Other noteworthy features of the EF-M 32mm f/1.4 STM lens include 14-element, eight-groups construction and a glass molded aspherical lens. In addition, Super Spectra Coating technology and optimized lens element placement help to minimize ghosting and flaring.

In addition, a lead gear-type STM stepping motor helps to provide smooth and quiet focus operation when taking photos. It also ensures near-silence when shooting video. The new EF-M lens also has a wide focusing ring with full-time manual focus capabilities. Moreover, it has a maximum magnification of 0.25x and minimum focusing distance of 9 inches.
The lens has a total length of 2 inches and weighs just more than 8 ounces.
The EF-M 32mm f/1.4 STM lens retails for $479.99. Included accessories for the new lens are Canon lens cap E-43, lens hood ES-60 and lens case LP-101.
