Las Vegas, NV—To encourage phoneographers shooting with a smartphone camera to upgrade to an entry-level interchangeable-lens camera (ILC), Canon unveiled two camera models. The EOS M50 mirrorless ILC is the first Canon M-series camera to offer 4K video recording.

In addition, the new EOS Rebel T7 is the latest addition to the popular EOS Rebel line of entry-level DSLR cameras. It features an upgraded CMOS sensor to deliver sharp, high-resolution images.

The mirrorless EOS M50 ILC is positioned as an all-around, entry-level camera with user-friendly features. It incorporates improved Dual Pixel CMOS AF technology as well as a 24.1 megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor. Canon says this results in less noise and high definition in low-light situations, along with 4K video-recording capability. The camera also provides a new silent shooting mode.

Additional features of the EOS M50 include: a new Digic 8 image processor; HD recording at 120 frames per sec (fps) for slow-motion video; and also a built-in OLED electronic viewfinder with touch-and-drag autofocus. To complement the EVF, the camera also includes a vari-angle, touch-screen LCD. In addition, the EOS M50 integrates Wi-Fi, NFC and Bluetooth connectivity for automatic image transfer to compatible devices while shooting.
