Allendale, NJ—Leica Camera and Magnum Photos announced a series of projects that build upon almost a century of shared history between the two world-renowned photographic institutions. The first venture showcases a number of independently produced multimedia essays by Magnum photographers that will debut at leica-camera.com, lfi-online.de and magnumphotos.com.
The companies also forged a partnership to allow Magnum photographers to use the latest Leica equipment in the field. Leica hopes to gain insight into the needs of professional photographers and integrate their feedback into the development of its product portfolio.
“Firsthand accounts on how Leica cameras and lenses stand up to difficult working conditions are extremely welcome and important additions to our in-factory testing procedures,” said Stefan Daniel, head of the Product Management division at Leica Camera AG.
