North White Plains, NY—Mamiya Leaf’s newly designed medium-format digital camera back platform—the Leaf Credo—is available in three models: the Leaf Credo 80, Credo 60 and Credo 40, which offer high-quality resolutions of 80, 60 and 40 megapixels, respectively.

Key Credo platform features include: a large, high-res (1.15MP) touch screen with 16 million colors for verification of focus and tonal accuracy; a dual-core microprocessor engineered to enable performance for the fastest available image viewing, focusing and editing; and a new, intuitive graphical user interface for navigation and to extend the touch screen beyond the LCD area, letting users navigate and click outside the image area. The digital backs also have FireWire 800 and USB 3.0 connectivity for image transfer.

For shooting both indoors and out, Leaf Credo backs also provide live-view functionality for focusing when shooting untethered, a wide viewing angle and a built-in bidirectional spirit level.

The flagship of the Leaf Credo platform is a full-frame 80MP CCD sensor with a dynamic range of 12.5 f/ stops. New to Mamiya Leaf is a full-frame 60MP CCD sensor with a 3:4 aspect ratio, and also available is the 40MP CCD sensor that offers the fastest capture speed in the Leaf Credo platform at 1.2 frames per second.

“Leaf Credo delivers the best price/performance ratio in the large sensor digital back market,” said Ziv Argov, marketing director, Mamiya Leaf. “Its impressive combination of high-resolution image quality, ease of use and the latest touch-screen LCD technologies makes the Leaf Credo digital back platform appealing for all photographers regardless of their styles.”

Leaf Credo digital backs work with the Mamiya 645DF camera, which has shutter speeds up to 1/4,000 of a second and sync speeds up to 1/1,600 of a second with Schneider-Kreuznach designed Leaf shutter lenses. However, Mamiya Leaf’s open platform philosophy enables compatibility with other medium-format camera bodies, such as the Hasselblad V and H and Contax (see mamiyaleaf.com for a full compatibility list). The digital backs are also optimized for shooting with Capture One workflow software to capture, organize, edit, share and print images.

Pricing for the Leaf Credo 40 starts at $19,495. The Leaf Credo 60 is listed at $32,495 and the Leaf Credo 80 at $38,995. Shipping is planned for June 2012. mamiyaleaf.com
