Pentax Imaging Company has announced the introduction of the Pentax K100D Super DSLR, the newest member of the company’s K Series of digital SLRs. The K100D Super combines the Pentax Shake Reduction (SR) system and Dust Removal (DR) system, and is fully compatible with all Pentax SDM lenses. The K100D Super also offers a large 2.5-inch LCD monitor with 210,000 pixel resolution and a Mode Dial featuring Auto Picture and Picture modes as well as several new Scene modes. The camera also includes 6.1 megapixel APS-C size CCD, 11-point autofocus mechanism, and 16 segment multi-pattern metering, along with a bright, high-precision Pentax mirror viewfinder that features a 96% field of view and 0.85X magnification. Expect an MSRP of $599 with a 18-55mm lens (body-only, $519).
