Los Angeles, CA—The DJI Mini 3 is a compact, ultra-lightweight camera drone. Moreover, at less than 249 grams (8.8 ounces), the Mini 3 is portable enough to take anywhere and is exempt from most drone regulations.
Further, its 1/1.3-inch camera sensor captures 4K HDR video and 12-megapixel photos with DJI’s “true vertical shooting” for social media content clarity.

DJI Mini 3 Features
The drone records 4K/30-frames-per-sec video in HDR, both in day and night. Its 1/1.3-inch CMOS sensor and f/1.7 aperture allow greater image resolution, sharper depth of field and lower image noise even in low-light and high-contrast scenes. What’s more, 4-in-1 pixel technology create photos from 12MP to 48MP with individual pixels as large as 2.4 μm to improve low-light performance.
In addition, dual native ISO and chip-level HDR technologies help create clear images. And with true vertical shooting, users can rotate the camera 90º to create content perfect for social media platforms.
Further, the Mini 3 comes with DJI’s standard intelligent flight battery to provide a max flight time of 38 minutes. Users can also extend flights to 51 minutes with the intelligent flight battery plus.
In addition, DJI O2 digital video transmission delivers a 720p/30-fps live feed from 6.2 miles away while using anti-interference technology to deliver a reliable connection. Moreover, with wind resistance at up to 10.7 m/s, the Mini 3 can hover steady and keep a stable image in various conditions.
QuickShots
The DJI Mini 3 also provides QuickShots, a suite of preprogrammed flight and filming paths for both landscape and vertical shooting. They include:
- Dronie: The aircraft flies back and up with the camera locked on the subject.
- Helix: The aircraft flies up and spirals around the subject.
- Rocket: The aircraft flies up with the camera facing down.
- Circle: The aircraft circles around the subject.
- Boomerang: The aircraft flies around the subject in an oval path, ascending as it flies away and descending as it returns.
In addition, the drone supports intelligent functions such as auto takeoff, which helps users start a flight. The return to home (RTH) function includes smart RTH, low battery RTH and failsafe RTH, instructing the drone to automatically return to its starting point if there’s a dropped signal or low battery. Also, GNSS combines with the downward vision system and the infrared sensing system to hover stably.
The Mini 3 also shoots 180°, wide and sphere panorama, with Sphere Panorama Viewer 2.0 in the DJI Fly app offering a 720° view to drag and zoom a sphere panorama. Other features are QuickTransfer with a download speed of 25MB/s; support for a large-angle tilt; and digital zoom at 2x in 4K/30fps, 4x in 1080p, as well as 2x in 12MP photo.
Bundled Accessories
The DJI Mini 3 arrives with several accessories, including the DJI RC lightweight remote controller with a built-in screen. Thanks to the built-in DJI Fly app, it’s ready to use without connecting to a smartphone.
Another accessory is a two-way charging hub that charges the remote controller and three batteries in sequence. It also serves as a mobile power source and stores batteries. Additional included accessories are ND16/64/256 filters; a 360° propeller guard; as well as a propeller holder that binds the propellers when the aircraft is folded.
The mini drone is available for purchase in several configurations. The drone alone has a suggested retail price of $469. Available bundles include the following:
