Rochester, NY—Kodak Moments, a division of Kodak Alaris, continues to expand its color negative film portfolio. The company introduced a new 120-format five-roll professional film pack for medium-format cameras: Kodak Professional Gold 200.

“The 120 film format has been around for Brownie No. 2 cameras since 1901,” said Thomas Mooney, product manager, Film Photography, Kodak Moments. “Although 120 years ago, this format is still the best format available today.

“Moreover, it’s one of the most popular film formats,” Mooney added. “One of the main reasons for the popularity of 120 film is that larger film negatives can be greatly enlarged without loss of image quality. For photographers looking to upgrade from 35mm photography to medium-format photography, this negative presents a great opportunity.”

Furthermore, the new 120-gauge Kodak Professional Gold 200 is an affordable entry-level color film. Yet, it delivers a combination of warm, saturated color; fine grain; as well as sharpness. What’s more, this film product is for any photographer who shoots in a variety of levels of daylight and electronic flash.

A low-speed, color negative film for general picture-taking situations, it’s also possible to expose the film under photo lamps (3400K) or tungsten illumination (3200K) with filters. In addition, the daylight-balanced film features a wide exposure latitude—from two stops underexposure to three stops overexposure.

Especially suitable for enlargements, the film also renders high-quality results when scanned for digital output. Like all Kodak Professional 120-format films, the company spooled the film with a reformulated backing paper that provides more protection for rolls subjected to less-than-ideal storage, handling and environmental conditions.

Kodak Professional Gold 200 color negative 120 roll film is now available. A five-pack is 25% less than comparable Portra and Ektar products. The five-pack retails for $44.95. Kodak-Moments_Logo
