Valhalla, NY—Fujifilm North America Corporation unveiled the Fujilfilm Instax Mini 12 instant camera. The successor to the company’s popular Instax Mini 11 that launched in 2020, the new instant camera brings a new look.

In addition, the Instax Mini 12 boasts enhanced features for instant photographers. They include parallax correction capabilities, automatic flash control as well as a multifunction twist lens.

“The Instax Mini 12 instant camera features a unique new design and a variety of appealing new color options,” said Bing Liem, president, Imaging Division, Fujifilm North America Corporation.

“It includes many of our consumers’ favorite features from the prior Mini 11 model, along with some new advancements that are sure to enhance our users’ photographic experience. We’re always impressed with the incredible creativity of our consumers. And we can’t wait to see what they create with the Mini 12!”

Fujifilm Instax Mini 12 Features

Fujifilm says its latest instant camera sports a new “airy, cloud-like and almost ‘inflated’ design/look.” However, it carries over the main features of the Mini 11, such as close-up mode and autoexposure adjustment capabilities.

In addition, it provides a new parallax correction feature. This feature enables the camera’s viewfinder to align with the lens when using close-up mode. As a result, object shifts are minimized to produce a centered photo.

The Mini 12 also features automatic flash control, which optimizes image quality in bright or low light. Further, its lens structure allows users to take advantage of intuitive steps both for powering the camera on/off and for accessing the close-up mode with a twist of the lens.

Instax Up! Smartphone App

Furthermore, the Fujifilm Instax team announced the launch of its free, downloadable Instax Up! smartphone app. It permits Instax users to digitally scan, import, organize and store their photos in one place—regardless of which Instax instant film, camera or printer they use.

“Solutions like our Instax Up! app keep our consumers connected, engaged and informed,” said Ashley Reeder Morgan, vice president, Consumer Marketing, Fujifilm North America Corporation. Fujifilm-NSTAX-MINI-12-I-prints

“Instax Up! will enable our users to organize, archive, and share their Instax photos with ease, helping preserve their special memories and inspiring them to create more.”

In addition to scanning their Instax photos and storing those files in one place, the app allows users to organize photos by category/list views for easy locating. They can also share stored photos and collections via social media or text.

What’s more, app users can import photos from other Instax apps into the Instax Up! app. Compatible apps include the Instax Mini Link app and Instax Link Wide app, for instance.

In the near future, Instax users can also use the Instax Up! app to stay informed about the latest Instax updates, tips and other creative content.

The Fujifilm Instax Mini 12 instant camera comes in a choice of colors: blossom pink, mint green, clay white, lilac purple and pastel blue. The camera has a manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $79.95.
