New York , NY—Polaroid introduced the updated Polaroid Gen 3 Now and Now+ instant film cameras. Further, they feature upgraded sensors and an optimized two-lens autofocus system. Consequently, they take better, brighter pictures in a wider variety of lighting conditions. Plus, they’ve got a whole new look.
Polaroid also upgraded the cameras’ light meter. In previous generations, the light meter was under the viewfinder. By moving it under the lens, it now does two things:
a) Gives more accurate readings on how much light is entering the camera at the point it actually enters the camera, for more accurate exposures.
b) Sits behind any glass placed over the lens, making your camera filter compatible.
Polaroid Gen 3 Now or Now+
Further, while the two cameras look similar, it’s what’s inside that counts. The Now+ connects to the Polaroid app to let you access advanced shooting modes. (That’s why there’s a plus in the name.) However, if you’re looking for the analog simplicity of a pick-up-and-play point-and-shoot instant camera, you might want the Now. Either way, you can scan and share your photos in the Polaroid app.
