Best Buy’s new Twitter-based customer-service effort, which was announced earlier this month, officially launched Monday with a new 30-second commercial.
In the ad, a young man stands on the field of a football game, as hundreds of in-uniform Best Buy sales associates sit in the stands and answer his questions. The ad is a metaphor for the company’s new "Twelpforce," which entails around 500 employees who search Twitter posts to find customers with questions about CE products. The associates will then contact the Twitterers and steer them towards Best Buy.
