Durst is back with their Jota Album Printer, a compact unit that features easy operation, high efficiency and a small footprint. In an automated workflow, the Jota creates a stack of up to 15 two-sided picture pages that are clamped, cold-glued and mounted in a single-pass process. Starting with the image files, the system produces greeting cards, post cards, calendars, posters, leaflets, invitations, catalogs and standard prints, as well as a variety of picture albums and “memory book” keepsakes. Durst explains that in one hour, the Jota system can produce eight 4×6-inch, two 8×12-inch or one 12×16-inch 30-page picture book.

The Jota is comprised of two eight-color, 720-dpi inkjet printers for two-sided printing, 50- sheet paper cassette, centralized ink supply system, built-in XY cutter, front-end workstation with image and system management software, and a stand-alone book/cover binder that lets opposite pages lie flat for two-page layouts. Consumers can submit image files and their design from home using the retailer’s online service system via the Internet, the company adds.
