Boca Raton, FL—Polaroid Fotobar will open its Las Vegas flagship retail location in February 2014 at the LINQ, a retail, dining and entertainment district currently in development by Caesars Entertainment.
Polaroid Fotobar is an experiential retail destination that is designed to help people “liberate” their photos and turn them into innovative photo merchandise. The two-level Las Vegas location will encompass 8,500 square feet and feature a first floor retail environment as well as the Polaroid Museum on the second floor.
“We are thrilled to partner with Caesars Entertainment and open our newest location in Las Vegas, a place where more exciting memories are made and captured in photos than probably anywhere else on earth,” said Warren Struhl, founder and CEO of Polaroid Fotobar. “While more pictures will be taken this year than all of modern day history combined, there has never been a simple way for people to liberate their photos from their smartphones, cameras and social platforms to create something physical that can be displayed on a wall, desk or shelf. With the opening of our Las Vegas location, people will not only be able to create something tangible out of their favorite Las Vegas moments and memories, but they will also be invited to a fun and unique destination with the addition of our Polaroid museum.”
The interactive, educational museum will be suitable for all ages and will convey the 75-year history of Polaroid and how its founder, Edwin Land, impacted not just the modern imaging industry but set the course for the future of instant and collaborative photo sharing. With an extensive collection of rare artifacts, art and advertising courtesy of the Polaroid Company Historical Collection at MIT, the museum will trace Polaroid from the early years through today. It will also feature photographic works from several prominent Polaroid photographers. In addition, the 4,500-square-foot museum will serve as an event space that can be used for corporate and private functions of up to 300 people.
The Las Vegas Polaroid Fotobar will also offer the ability to instantly print consumers’ pictures—wherever the images reside—utilizing the Polaroid classic border logo format in five different sizes. Customers also can turn their favorite photos into a selection of custom and unique photo products on a variety of materials, including canvas, stone, metal and bamboo.
“The Las Vegas Polaroid Fotobar store is truly an embodiment of the Polaroid brand and our rich 75-year history,” said Scott W. Hardy, president and CEO of Polaroid. “Just like our other Polaroid Fotobar stores, the Las Vegas location allows consumers to experience the self-expression, creativity and fun of the Polaroid brand. The store’s Polaroid Museum also allows guests to immerse themselves in our brand’s rich history and draw inspiration from past works of art for a truly unique experience.”
Polaroid Fotobar will join 32 trend-setting tenants and the world’s largest observation wheel, the High Roller, at the LINQ, a pedestrian-friendly street at the center of the Strip. polaroidfotobar
