Anhui, China—Venus Optics introduced the Laowa Proteus 2x Anamorphic Zoom lens series. They are its lightest, most compact as well as most affordable 2x front anamorphic zooms for S35 sensors. The lenses also offer a versatile zoom range with two models: a 26–45mm and a 45–85mm.
Moreover, they weigh 3.3 pounds and measure 7.5 inches in length, to provide mobility for cinematographers and camera operators. The series also highlights cinematic flare options, organic oval bokeh and a 1’7″ closest focusing distance. Further, the lenses comes in native ARRI PL mounts with an interchangeable Canon EF mount included. Additional bayonets for purchase are Canon RF, Sony E, Nikon Z as well as L mounts.

Laowa Proteus 2x Anamorphic Zoom lenses have an MSRP of $5,999 for a single lens (26-45mm/45-85mm) and $10,999 for a two-lens set. Interchangeable bayonets for mirrorless cameras are available for $50 each.
