Huntington Beach, CA—olloclip’s new mobile photography lens sets for iPhone 7 and 7 Plus include the olloclip Core, Active and Macro Pro kits. The updated designs feature premium multielement optics, the company’s new Connect interchangeable-lens system and also a hinged lens base. The base keeps the lens flush with the camera for improved optical performance. It also allows compatibility with most screen protectors.
olloclip’s multielement, coated glass optics are engineered to deliver crisp images with edge-to-edge clarity. The lenses were also developed to provide similar perspectives to lenses used on professional DSLR cameras. Yet they are sized small enough to fit in a pocket.
“olloclip is committed to continually enhancing the mobile photography experience,” said Patrick O’Neill, olloclip’s founder. “That means giving full respect to mobility with no oversized, heavy lenses and paying strict attention to delivering beautiful photography with the simplest, quickest and also most versatile user experience possible.”
olloclip Connect Interchangeable-Lens System
The new Connect lens system is equipped to quickly configure with other individual iPhone 7 Connect lenses. The patent-pending system attaches and aligns instantly to both the front and rear cameras of iPhone with no extra parts required.
Similar to the snug fit of over-ear headphones, the hinged lens base of the Connect system also swivels independently. It’s also claimed to be screen protector friendly (up to .5mm). It adapts to keep the lens flush with the camera for improved optical performance.
Core Lens Set
The Core lens set for iPhone 7 and 7 Plus models is built for versatility. New multielement fisheye, superwide and macro 15x lenses offer options for capturing and sharing unique perspectives.
Fisheye: this lens provides creative freedom through a near-180º spherical effect.
Superwide: the 4-element lens offers more than a 120º field of view to take in more of a landscape and more friends.
Macro 15x: it’s designed to transform iPhone’s camera into a digital microscope with 15x magnification for close-ups.
Active Lens Set
This set includes multielement telephoto and ultrawide lenses. The complete system, with a 2x optical zoom and “action camera” field of view, is geared to make it easier to shoot farther and wider with iPhone’s native camera.
Telephoto 2x: the 2x optical zoom lens brings shooters closer to the action and is designed to capture portraits with clarity and a shallow depth of field.
Ultrawide: with a 155º “action camera” field of view, it’s targeted at adventure shooters as well as portraitists wanting more dynamic context in landscape and portrait imagery.
Macro Pro Lens Set
This set was created to turn the iPhone 7/7 Plus into a digital microscope or loupe with three lens options. Six-element optics allow users to get extra close to capture macro shots with “edge-to-edge clarity, greater depth of field and less pincushion distortion.” The InstaFocus hoods collect as well as diffuse light and facilitate instant focusing.
7x Macro: this lens is geared for capturing detail-oriented images. Macro 14x: users can see beyond the naked eye and photograph down to a thread on a shirt with the 14x lens.
21x Macro: when combined with iPhone’s digital zoom, it achieves nearly 100x magnification.
olloclip’s new lens system also includes a wearable pendant stand that keeps the lenses accessible. The pendant opens to create a pocket-size tripod. Additionally, the lenses work with all camera as well as social media apps. They also support video, live broadcasting, time-lapse, panorama and 360º VR capture.
