It covers from the 50mm standard focal length to 400mm ultra telephoto. Featuring an 8x zoom ratio that begins at 50mm, the lens is smaller and lighter than conventional 100–400mm zooms. However, it offers a wider angle of view on the wide end and one-half life-size (1:2) magnification during close focus. Consequently, you can enjoy half-macro photography and benefit from close-up shooting with a minimum object distance of 9.8 inches at 50mm.
