Huntington Beach, CA—Kenko Tokina Co. released the Tokina SZ mount adapter EF-FE on May 12, 2023. The mount adapter EF-FE allows Tokina Canon EF-mount lenses to work on Sony E-mount mirrorless cameras.
Moreover, the adapter is for photographers and videographers who used to shoot with Tokina lenses on Canon DSLR cameras but recently shifted to Sony E-mount mirrorless cameras.
“The Tokina SZ mount-adapter EF-FE is an ideal tool to make their Tokina heritage be useful again and enjoy good old performance of Tokina optics with conventional camera system,” the company announced.
Tokina SZ Mount Adapter EF-FE Highlights
The EF-FE mount adapter, TA-019, is exclusively for use with Tokina Canon EF-mount lenses on Sony E-mount mirrorless cameras in still AF mode. It is also compatible with Canon EF and EF-S lenses in video AF mode. In addition, the adapter allows for firmware updates through a micro USB port.
Compatibility with Sony cameras includes:
- Mode switch – Mode 1 for still photography and Mode 2 for video shooting in AF mode.
- Compatible with Tokina’s exclusive one-touch focus clutch mechanism.
- Compatible with focus area modes: wide, zone, center, flexible spot, expand flexible spot, tracking, etc.
- Compatible with Sony camera drive mode.
- Compatible with all exposure modes (P, A, S, M) in video mode.
- Compatible with cameras’ built-in image stabilization system.
- Compatible with face/eye AF mode.
- Enables EXIF data recording (only focal length and aperture).
- Allows attachment of Canon EF-S lenses.
- Allows firmware updates through a micro USB port.
Furthermore, Tokina’s mount adapter EF-FE is currently compatible with the following Canon EF/EF-S lenses both in still mode and video mode.
