Maumee, OH—The new Westcott ProGrip 2 is a handheld mount for off-camera flash. The unit is designed to offer mobility and adaptability in any shooting scenario, without the need for light stands.
The lightweight, portable mount is a solution whether you’re shooting on-location portraits, weddings or capturing beach sessions. The flash mount is also compatible with Westcott FJ80 speedlights, the FJ200 strobe, as well as a range of third-party lights.
Westcott ProGrip 2 Features
With the ProGrip 2, you can attach your light using the universal cold shoe or adjustable 1/4″-20 male thread. The device permits both vertical and horizontal mounting to achieve a desired lighting angle and spread. Furthermore, if you prefer using a bounce or shoot-through light modifier, the off-camera flash mount adapts to your creative preferences.
In addition, the ProGrip 2 has a 9mm umbrella mount and tension knob to accommodate both collapsible and standard umbrellas. And its nonslip rubber grip pad provides traction. What’s more the flash mount can support up to 6 pounds of weight to achieve stability when attaching off-camera flashes and compact light modifiers. This includes Rapid Box Switch softboxes, barndoors, gels or reflectors.
Westcott prioritized durability and versatility when developing the mount. It is made of reinforced nylon, rubber and metal. “Its reinforced nylon construction ensures long-lasting use while maintaining its structural integrity,” the company announced.
The device comes bundled with a nonslip rubber pad and a removable FJ200 insert, making it suitable for horizontal mounting of a light. It measures 7.0×4.5×1.6 inches and weighs in at 0.4 pound. The ProGrip 2 comes with a one-year warranty and has a suggested retail price of $34.90.
