Upper Saddle River, NJ—Manfrotto, manufacturer of premium photo, video and lighting support products, added to its range of accessories for photographers and videographers with a new series of friction arms.
For enthusiasts and professionals alike, the line comprises four small friction arms available in two sizes, 5.5 and 9 inches. The new Italian-made arms include updated features and interchangeable adapters for more flexibility.
With the series, Manfrotto also introduced an anti-rotation system to prevent the load from rotating. This feature is available when using Manfrotto friction arms in combination with the Manfrotto Nano Clamp 386B-1 and with the “Easylink” connection of the Manfrotto 190 and 055 tripod series. As a result of the unique shape of the anti-rotation adapter, the metal ring, arm, equipment and support or clamp are interlocked, preventing unwanted movement and rotation.
Manufactured using aluminum, the new friction arms can carry a payload of up to 6.6 pounds. The also feature ergonomic, adjustable knobs that allow for maximum torque when securing the arm in place as well as a hot shoe attachment and an adapter that can be swapped for various applications. The adapters are available in a 5/8-inch spigot, 3/8-inch and1/4-inch attachment.
