Mimaki USA Makes Several Key Appointments

Suwanee, GA—Mimaki USA, a manufacturer of wide-format inkjet printers and cutters, announced several appointments in management, sales, marketing and service positions. These appointments, a result of Mimaki Engineering’s overall sales growth of 29.8% in 2013 over 2012, will support expected continued growth in the wide-format printing market.

Ken VanHorn joins Mimaki USA as director, Marketing and Business Development. In this newly created position, VanHorn is responsible for marketing strategy and planning, marketing communications and promotional activities. He comes to Mimaki USA from HP, where he was category manager, High Volume Industrial and Workflow, responsible for lifecycle management of the industrial products portfolio. Before HP, he was a product marketing manager for EFI, where he was in charge of developing the strategy for worldwide promotion of several product lines, including VUTEk grand-format printers. He also served in progressive product management roles at Roland DGA and Encad.

Paul McGovern was promoted to regional sales manager for the Dallas Technology Center, where he is responsible for developing sales and managing dealer relationships in Arkansas, Kansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma and Texas. He also manages the day-to-day operations of the Dallas Technology Center, showcasing a range of equipment from Mimaki. McGovern previously served as manager, Sales Promotion, at Mimaki USA headquarters near Atlanta. Prior to that, he held progressive sales management and business development positions at Mimaki USA. He is considered a subject matter expert in inkjet technology and inkjet inks.

Vernon Jones assumes the responsibilities previously held by McGovern. Jones started his career with Mimaki USA in 2008 as an application engineer and quickly progressed to supervisor, Sales Promotion. His creative background and program management experience make him ideally suited to lead this group.
