Santa Rosa, CA—For outdoor enthusiasts, MindShift Gear released the higher volume rotation180° Horizon backpack. With a rotating belt pack, the backpack allows access to food, binoculars, cameras, lenses and other equipment without having to take it off.

There is now added space in the main pack for larger gear, including clothing, climbing gear and a 13-inch laptop. Two rows of daisy chains and ice ax loops provide additional lash points, while a webbing rail allows for attaching additional components to the waist belt.

“The rotation180º Horizon backpack is an essential addition to our award-winning rotation backpack series,” said MindShift Gear’s CEO and lead designer, Doug Murdoch. “Its 34 liters of capacity and its ability to hold a laptop, a 10-inch tablet and up to a 3-liter hydration reservoir provide the dimensions and features for which outdoor adventurers have been clamoring. It employs the same patented technology that won two of Europe’s top design awards, the Red Dot Award and the OutDoor Industry Award.”

Additional features include: a zippered, side hydration compartment; the ability to remove the belt pack so it can be worn separately for shorter outings; a front zippered pocket for quicker access to smaller items; a small trekking tripod or fly rod/reel carry on the front or side panels; load–lifter straps adjust the weight distribution for a comfortable fit; and a side water bottle pocket that fits most 32 ounce water bottles.

In addition, the belt pack compression straps adjust for a custom fit, and a breathable padded air-mesh shoulder harness offers an adjustable sternum strap. All exterior fabric has a water–repellant coating, plus the underside of the fabric has a polyurethane coating. It also has YKK zippers, 420D velocity nylon, 420D high–density nylon, 100D shadow Ripstop nylon, 210D velocity nylon and three–ply bonded nylon thread.

The 2.7-pound backpack has exterior dimensions of 11×24.4×9.1 inches and interior dimensions of 8.5x11x 4 inches. The belt pack, weighing 1.2 pounds, has exterior dimensions of 11×8.7×6.7 inches and interior dimensions of 10.4×7.9×5.5 inches. MSRP: $259.99.
