Melville, NY—Canon USA introduced the Canon EOS R7 and EOS R10 mirrorless camera bodies. They are the company’s first EOS R-series models with smaller-size APS-C imaging sensors.

In addition, the company announced two standard zoom RF lenses: the RF-S18–45mm f/4.5–6.3 IS STM and the RF-S18–150mm f/3.5–6.3 IS STM.

The EOS R7 is for hobbyists and general photography enthusiasts seeking an upgrade to their travel photos or wanting to capture family memories while opening a new world of creative possibilities.

Conversely, the EOS R10 is for content creators looking for a camera option to capture high-quality action videos and images of sports, wildlife and motorsports.

The compact EOS R7 and EOS R10 employ 32-megapixel and 24-megapixel APS-C-size image sensors, respectively. In addition, both provide enhanced video functions and accessories while maintaining ease of use. For instance, the EOS R7 uses the new multifunction shoe.

Moreover, with a mirrorless system at their core, the cameras provide a telephoto reach through both still image and video; that’s due to the 1.6x crop factor that comes with APS-C sensor cameras.

The EOS R7 is the first Canon APS-C camera with up to 7.0 stops of coordinated image stabilization. Furthermore, both use autofocus (AF) subject detection inherited from the EOS R3.

They both also provide continuous bursts at up to 15 frames per second with the mechanical shutter. In addition, the EOS R7 achieves 30-fps bursts with its electronic shutter. The EOS R7 also offers full width 4K video recording at 60p, 30p and 24p. The dust- and moisture-resistant EOS R7 also integrates dual cards slots.

Other shared features are built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity as well as a 2.36M-dot OLED color electronic viewfinder. Additionally, the EOS R10 sports a 3-inch, 1.04M-dot LCD monitor, while the EOS R7 has a 3-inch, 1.62M-dot LCD.

The Canon EOS R10 camera body will have a suggested retail price of $979.99. The Canon EOS R7 body will have an SRP of $1,499.

A Pair of RF-S Lenses

Alongside the new cameras, Canon will release two RF-S lenses. This series of RF-mount lenses is optimized for the smaller-sized APS-C sensor of the new EOS R camera system.

The RF-S18–45mm f/4.5–6.3 IS STM and RF-S18–150mm f/3.5–6.3 IS STM are the first standard zoom lenses for the EOS R7 and EOS R10 cameras. The RF-S 18–45mm provides an 18–45mm focal length; however, users will experience a field of view equivalent to 29–72mm lens coverage on a full-frame camera.

Furthermore, the RF-S18–150mm is a longer-range standard zoom. It’s equivalent to 29–240mm lens coverage on a full-frame camera.

While meant as companions for the new EOS R10 and EOS R7 APS-C-sized sensor bodies, the lenses will work with any R-series camera.

In addition, the RF-S18–45mm f/4.5–6.3 IS STM with the EOS R10 body will have an SRP of $1,099. The RF-S18–150mm f/3.5–6.3 IS STM lens bundled with the EOS R10 will retail for $1,379.

What’s more, the Canon RF-S18–150mm lens f/3.5–6.3 IS STM kit with the EOS R7 will have an SRP of $1,899. All products will ship to retail in late 2022.
