Ridgefield Park, NJ—Right on the heels of its debut at CE Week 2015 in June, Polaroid’s next-generation lifestyle action camera, the Wi-Fi-enabled Polaroid Cube+, is available for preorder and is set to ship the end of August.

In 2014, with the goal of opening the POV action cam market to everyday consumers and families who wanted to capture their less-than-extreme memories, the Cube debuted with a 35mm cube-shaped form factor, an integrated magnet, fun colors and accessories—at a sub-$100 price point.

“We knew we had to take an entirely different approach when we introduced the Polaroid Cube,” said Scott W. Hardy, president and CEO, Polaroid. “The action camera category was—and still is—a crowded space, so the ability to differentiate while adhering to the core values of our brand was paramount. The Polaroid Cube is a fun, easy-to-use, affordable lifestyle-centric action camera that immediately struck a chord with consumers around the world. We’re excited to grow the Polaroid Cube family with the introduction of the Wi-Fi enabled model.”

The Polaroid Cube upholds the company’s core values of ease of use and instant sharing. Polaroid continued its partnership with design firm Ammunition to create the camera. Led by industrial designer Robert Brunner, Ammunition is the design studio behind award-winning consumer products for brands that include Adobe, Beats by Dre, Square, Lyft and Williams-Sonoma.

“It’s fantastic for us to work with Polaroid creating products that evoke the brand’s incredible heritage. With the original Polaroid Cube, we incorporated all the classic aspects of Polaroid; fun, spontaneity, accessibility and ease of use,” said Robert Brunner, founder/partner of Ammunition. “The Polaroid Cube+ maintains the tiny cubic form factor and simple one-button operation that people love so much, while adding additional functionality that takes the product to the next level.”

The Polaroid Cube+ allows consumers to record 1080p Full HD video at 60 frames per second and take 8 megapixel still images. It adds to that Wi-Fi connectivity, image stabilization, enhanced low-light performance and increased memory capacity with the ability to record to a 64GB microSD card.

Compatible with iOS and Android devices via the Polaroid Cube+ app, users can sync the cam with their smartphone or tablet to capture and share their videos and photos from virtually anywhere—without the need to download content to a computer. They can also use the app as a remote viewfinder to frame their shots, and it gives them the ability to control settings, begin/end recording, capture stills and edit, save, print or share—all while on the go.

The Polaroid Cube and Cube+ are offered by C&A Marketing, Inc.—an authorized Polaroid licensee and a manufacturer, distributor and online reseller of cameras and photographic equipment. The Cube+ has an SRP of $149.99. polaroid.com
