Woodbury, NY—PMA, the Worldwide Community of Imaging Associations, announced that PMDA’s Portraits of Love program will return to The Big Photo Show in Los Angeles, California, May 17–18, 2014. As they did last year at the inaugural The Big Photo Show, Portraits of Love—a project developed by the PhotoImaging Manufacturers and Distributors Association (PMDA) and cosponsored by the USO—will have volunteer professional photographers on-site at The Big Photo Show to take free portraits of the families and loved ones of U.S. military members.

Through a partnership with Shutterfly, the portraits will be printed and delivered to members of the U.S. military all over the world, all at no cost. Last year, dozens of families participated in portrait sessions held throughout the two-day event in LA.

“After a tremendous turnout last year, we’re thrilled to be coming back to The Big Photo Show this year with the PMDA Portraits of Love program, and we’re happy to once again offer free portraits to military families,” said Jerry Grossman, executive director of the PhotoImaging Manufacturers and Distributors Association. “We’re looking forward to once again being part of this tremendous gathering of imaging companies, dealers and consumers.”

Families and loved ones of active duty members of the military can register to have a portrait done at The Big Photo Show at eventbrite.com/e/portraits-of-love-the-big-photo-show-2014-tickets-10701990943.

The Big Photo Show is a series of events for people who love photography—from snapshooters and photo hobbyists to professionals. The event offers: exhibits featuring the latest photography innovations from leading imaging manufacturers; photography education, at beginner/intermediate and advanced levels, taught by top professional photographers and instructors; and live model arenas, where attendees can shoot side-by-side with pros who will offer tips and tricks on lighting and posing.

Attendees can also view creative photo product displays of a variety of beautiful home décor, photo gift items and innovative framing options. And they can see “photo doctors” to have their equipment repaired and their photo capture problems diagnosed.

In addition to the upcoming event in Los Angeles this May, The Big Photo Show will be held in Chicago, September 27–28, 2014. pmai.org and pmda.com
