Valhalla, NY—Fujifilm brought more than a dozen new FinePix cameras to PMA 2010, along with new products in their Instax instant film and camera portfolio and retail photo printing solutions.
FinePix AV100 & AX200. These compacts are geared for consumers on a budget yet they utilize a 12 megapixel CCD sensor and high-res 2.7-inch LCD. The AV100 hosts a Fujinon 3x optical zoom lens; the AX200 steps up with a Fujinon 5x wide-angle optical zoom. Other features include HD video capability, automatic scene recognition, face detection and high ISO sensitivities. The AV100 and AX200 carry MSRPs of $99.95 and $109.95, respectively.
FinePix JV100, JX250, JZ300, JZ500. With metal bodies and high-res 2.7-inch LCDs, these HD-capable models come in a range of price points and feature sets. The 12MP JV100 has a Fujinon 3x optical zoom lens. The JX250 employs a 14MP CCD and a Fujinon 5x optical zoom lens. The 12MP JZ300 has a long Fujinon 10x wide-angle optical zoom lens (28–280mm equivalent); the FinePix JZ500 rounds out the series with a 14 megapixel CCD and a Fujinon 10x wide-angle optical zoom lens. The JV100, JX250, JZ300 and JZ500 retail for $129.95, $159.95, $199.95 and $249.95 respectively.
FinePix Z70. The successor to the FinePix Z series, the Z70 has 12MP, a 2.7-inch LCD and a periscopic Fujinon 5x optical zoom lens (36–180mm equivalent) for added range. Its feature set includes one-touch HD video capability, LED-illuminated operation keys and automatic upload to YouTube and Facebook. $149.95.
FinePix XP10. This is the first in a new category of “super-tough” cameras that are engineered to be waterproof, shockproof, freezeproof and dustproof. The XP10 is an ergonomic “extreme-proof” camera housed in a metal body with a tactile grip finish. This camera boasts 12 megapixels, one-touch HD movie capture, a 2.7-inch high-contrast LCD and a periscopic Fujinon 5x optical zoom lens. $199.95.
FinePix Z700EXR. The first in a new class of EXR touch-screen FinePixs, the Z700EXR features a sleek 17.9mm-wide body, Fujifilm’s 12MP Super CCD EXR sensor, a Fujinon 5x periscopic optical zoom lens and a 3.5-inch wide (16:9) touch screen. Its dual-direction graphic user interface (GUI) and dual-image display is designed to make navigating easy. The GUI detects the orientation of the camera and automatically switches the direction of the menu button accordingly, while dual-image display splits the screen to view multiple images at once.
