Las Vegas, NV—Fujifilm debuted a new line of feature-rich FinePix digital cameras—each designed to give consumers an enjoyable user experience that fits their lifestyle. The cameras include the FinePix S1, the FinePix XP70, the super-zoom FinePix S9400W bridge camera with Wi-Fi functions, and the pocketable FinePix S8600 with a 36x, 25–900mm zoom lens. All will ship in March 2014.
FinePix S1. Billed as the “world’s first ‘weather-resistant’ super-zoom bridge camera,” the S1 provides protection against rain and dust. It features a 16.4 megapixel CMOS sensor and a bright 50x, 24–1200mm f/2.8–5.6 lens with 2x Intelligent Digital Zoom technology that takes it up to 100x. A high-contrast, vari-angle 3.0-inch LCD (920k dot) is engineered to make it easy to frame shots from any angle, and the 0.2-inch EVF (920k dot) aids in difficult shooting conditions. In addition, the camera offers one-touch Wi-Fi connectivity to share images to a smartphone or tablet—quality pictures that those devices cannot capture—and remote shooting via smartphone or tablet using the Fujifilm Camera Remote app.
Other features include: a 1cm super macro mode; 5-axial image stabilization; a 0.14-sec AF speed; a shooting interval of 0.65 sec; 10-fps continuous bursts; time-lapse interval shooting; 10 artistic filters; and Full HD movie capture. $499.95.
FinePix XP70. The latest addition to Fujifilm’s “tough” XP series, the FinePix XP70 is a rugged digital camera that is waterproof to 33 feet, shockproof to withstand a drop from 5 feet, dustproof and freezeproof to 14°F. It employs a 16.4MP high-speed CMOS sensor, a 5x, 28–140mm optical zoom lens and built-in Wi-Fi connectivity for one-touch transfer to smartphones and tablets. The XP70 also features optical image stabilization, action camera mode, 10 filters, HDR capture, motion panorama 360º and Full HD 1080p movie capture, even underwater.
