Valhalla, NY—The professional-grade Fujifilm X100S digital camera features a new, advanced APS-C-size X-Trans CMOS II image sensor and improved EXR II image processor. In the company’s X series of premium compact cameras, the new model uses a bright Fujinon 23mm f/2 fixed lens that’s said to deliver “amazing image quality from edge to edge.”

The Fujifilm X100S combines three Fujifilm “high-performance components that work together to defy ordinary digital camera limitations, and give photographers a uniquely advanced professional digital camera experience,” the company reported.

By using Fujifilm’s X-Trans CMOS II sensor, EXR II processor and the Fujinon 23mm f/2 lens, the X100S is capable of autofocus speeds as fast as 0.08 second and increases its image resolution by 16%, as well as reduces noise by 30% over the first generation X100.

And for the first time in an X-series model, the X100S features a digital split image function that uses the X-Trans sensor’s built-in phase detection pixels to display dual images that can be manually focused by the user. fujifilmusa.com
