GE Power Pro X400 Bridge Camera Reaches Retail at Walmart

Gardena, CA—General Imaging (GIC), the licensee of GE branded digital cameras, announced shipping and availability of the new GE X400 in more than 3,600 Walmart U.S. stores and on walmart.com.

An addition to its bridge camera lineup, the X400 is the newest member of the GE Power Pro family and is targeted at consumers looking for a step up from the traditional point-and-shoot camera. It features a 15x zoom, wide-angle lens combined with optical image stabilization, improved high dynamic range and pancapture capabilities.

“We have seen phenomenal growth in both retail and consumer adoption of our GE lineup of high-quality digital cameras. Much of that success can be attributed to our Power Pro series, particularly the X500 digital camera,” said Paul Meyhoefer, vice president, Marketing and Product Planning, GIC. “In 2011 GAP Intelligence, a 10-year veteran CE market research firm, named GE as the fastest-growing mid-tier camera brand, further validating our commitment to delivering high performance cameras at an exceptional value. The GE X400 rounds out the 2012 GE Power Pro X series, giving consumers an even more affordable option in the most popular bridge camera category.”

Sporting a 2.7-inch LCD, the X400 offers a 27mm wide-angle lens and 14 megapixels, and it is equipped with more than 20 shooting modes, high dynamic range that adjusts light exposure for more detail in both light and dark scenes, and a sensitivity setting of ISO 3200. The X400 is available in black at Walmart stores and in black and white at walmart.com. $129.99. general-imaging.com
