Secaucus, NJ—Panasonic’s Lumix DMC-LZ30 compact camera has a 35x optical zoom (25–875mm equivalent) lens with optical image stabilizer. Its 16.1 megapixel CCD and image-processing LSI support shooting high-quality photos and 720p video.

The DMC-LZ30’s 25mm wide-angle lens is comprised of 14 elements in 10 groups, including three ED (Extra-low Dispersion) lenses and one dual-sided aspherical lens. An extra optical zoom function is said to extend zoom power to 78.8x (3MP resolution) by using the center part of the CCD to bring subjects closer. Linking with the 16.1MP sensor, the image processor is built to produce high-quality images, even during high-sensitivity recording at ISO 6400.

iA (intelligent auto) mode lets users leave everything to the camera to take images utilizing face detection, intelligent scene selector and intelligent exposure. Once iA is activated, these multi-capable functions occur automatically, so users can shoot without adjusting settings should conditions change.

The DMC-LZ30 is also capable of recording 720p HD video, and Panasonic’s creative control and creative retouch functions are newly available with a total of 21 filter effects. Panorama shot and HDR are also incorporated in the DMC-LZ30.

Other features include: a 3.0-inch, 460k-dot LCD; a comfortable grip; and P/M mode for more advanced users. panasonic.com
