Secaucus, NJ—Samsung Electronics’ new range of long-zoom travel cameras includes the WB850F, WB150F and ST200F, which offer Wi-Fi capabilities to facilitate sharing and saving images from anywhere. Housed in compact, light and durable bodies, the trio is marketed as “the perfect travel companions.”

With Samsung’s new Smart Wi-Fi technology, these long-zoom cameras eliminate the need for cables to transfer images to a computer, instead using their auto backup function. They can also take advantage of integrated free storage space from Samsung’s AllShare Play and Microsoft Sky Drive to make their photos accessible anywhere.

At any Wi-Fi hotspot, users can e-mail photos or share them on social networks like Facebook and Picasa or post videos to YouTube in a few simple steps. The WB850F also uses GPS features and Live Landmark to enhance the user’s journeys, enabling them to download maps and find out information on nearby locations.

The WB850F features a 21x optical zoom, while the WB150F features an 18x optical superzoom and the ST200F includes a 10x optical zoom lens. In order to capture the detail at its best, all travel zoom models feature upwards of 12 megapixel sensors (16.2MP on the WB850F and 14.2MP on the WB150F). The WB850F also features pioneering BSI CMOS sensor technology to reduce image noise and distortion, even in low light conditions. This crystal-clear detail can then be experienced in all its clarity on the 3.0-inch VGA AMOLED screen featured on both models.

“Taking photographs and sharing them with friends and family is one of the most enjoyable aspects of traveling,” said Myoung Sup Han, senior vice president and head of the digital imaging business at Samsung Electronics. “It’s about more than simply capturing memories; it’s an integral part of the experience itself. Listening to our customers, we discovered that being able to conserve memory and share images instantly was what was missing from the high-quality cameras that they trust. With this in mind, we added groundbreaking Wi-Fi functions to our travel zoom series, building on the brilliant image quality that high-quality sensors and zoom lenses provide with the ability to store and share like never before.”

With Samsung travel zoom cameras, users can share their video in HD. The WB850F captures 1080/30p Full HD and 1080/60i; the WB150F and ST200F feature 720/30p HD recording. And users can utilize the motion photo function that lets them make one element of a normal photograph keep moving while the rest of the frame stays still, such as a friend walking through a crowd. With the ST200F, instant in-camera editing along with Wi-Fi allow users to share images without needing a computer.

Other features include: full manual controls on the WB850F and WB150F; optical image stabilization (OIS) on all three; a smart auto setting that identifies and automatically selects the most appropriate of its scene modes; live panorama that facilitates the capture of wide panoramic shots by holding down the shutter button and sweeping the camera; split shot, which divides the screen into three separate shots and creates up to three different photographs; magic frame that lets users position their target in the middle of a fun background; a picture-in-picture feature that combines favorite shots to make a collage; and the funny face function that enlarges heads or noses and creates facial distortions.

Samsung’s travel long zooms retail for: WB850F, $379.99; WB150F, $229.99; ST200F, $199.99. samsung.com
