Minnetonka, MN—Polaroid announced the availability of the Polaroid PlaySmart 3D printer in the United State. The affordable and lightweight desktop 3D printer, available initially at JoAnn, fits into any home, classroom or office environment.
Moreover, users have access to millions of preexisting designs available for download for free from the 3D community. In addition, Polaroid Prep software comes with each PlaySmart printer. Consumers can print with two clicks of a button when they download and import an existing model or create their own design using any third-party design package.
Polaroid PlaySmart 3D Printer Features
The 3D printer bundles several features into its compact form factor. They include the ability to send models to print; monitor the print; and also control the printer. What’s more, this is all accomplished through the Polaroid PlaySmart app and built-in Wi-Fi camera. The printer also provides a 3.5-inch full color LCD touch screen to control printing.
Consumers can also print multicolor models by presetting the printer to pause during a print so that they can change the filament to another color. They can also select from a range of filament colors and materials, including printing in a wood-like material.
Furthermore, the 3D printer provides a print size of 4.7×4.7×4.7 inches and a variable print layer height of 50 to 300 microns.
Manufactured by EBP Group, an authorized Polaroid licensee, the PlaySmart printer is available for a retailer price of $599.99.
