Woodbury, NY—The 2014 DI Symposium, slated for June 24, 2014 at the Apella in the Alexandria Center in New York City, expanded its list of speakers and topics.

Joining Yahoo Tech! founder David Pogue at the daylong event will be Marc Levoy of Stanford University, who will talk about Google Glass and its potential effect on photography, and Enrique Muyshondt, president of desktopFab, who will be part of a distinguished panel delving into the future of 3D printing.

In addition, a panel of prominent retailers will include Mark Leonard from the PRO Group and John Boris of Shutterfly, who will lead a discussion on “How Today’s Consumers Have Changed and How Retailers Are Adapting.” The symposium will also explore “The Powerful Influence of Social Media on Photography,” led by photo entrepreneurs Colby Brown and Tony Gale.

“The second annual DI Symposium will focus on exploring topics that confront the digital imaging industry today,” said Jerry Grossman, editor in chief of Digital Imaging Reporter, a cosponsor of the symposium. “Based on our feedback from last year’s event, we wanted to expand even more into the issues and challenges that manufacturers, retailers and the media are facing. And just seeing David Pogue is worth the price of admission. It really is a must-see event.”

The DI Symposium will be presented by Digital Imaging Reporter, the Consumer Electronics Association and the PMDA; cosponsors include Nikon Inc. and Ecce-Terram. For more information, go to disymposium.com.
