Concord, NC—DNP Imagingcomm America Corporation (DNP) debuted its DS820A flagship 8-inch, dye-sublimation photo printer.

The printer is marketed for professional photographers for both on-site as well as in-the-studio use. The DS820A provides a range of print output, from 4×8-inch prints to 8×32-inch panoramic photos.

The printer is designed with the company’s latest generation of dye-sublimation thermal print technology. Consequently, it is engineered to create professional-grade photos with details. It offers a choice of multiple print modes. These include high speed and high resolution, at high or standard density. All prints are available in four improved finishes: matte, fine matte, glossy and also luster.

A roll-fed design and simple dye-sublimation transfer method help ensure the photo printer can be operated for extended periods of time with minimal downtime. In addition, the roll-fed design provides capacity for large amounts of media for printing. According to its specs, the printer can produce 130 8×10-inch photos and 110 8×12-inch photos before a new media roll is required.

“From classic portraits to panoramic prints, the DS820A is a valuable tool for creative photo professionals printing in the studio or on-site,” said Katsuyuki Oshima, president of DNP IAM. “The DS820A represents our continued commitment to providing the most innovative and profitable photo printing solutions for professional photographers.”

DS820A: Compact and Portable

The printer weighs 30 pounds and features a compact form factor (12.7×14.4×6.7 inches) to save valuable workspace in the studio. Its portability also allows for easy shipping and transport to any event. It also enables the printer to be stacked for high-volume printing locations.

It is equipped with improved heat dissipation for higher throughput. In addition, a new standby mode decreases energy consumption. The DS820A is offered with a three-year Advanced Exchange warranty.

Drivers for Windows 2000, XP, Vista, 7, 8, and Mac OS are available for free download on the DNP website. dnpphoto.com
