New York, NY—On August 24, Polaroid unveiled a pocket printer that uses the dye-sublimation process for fade-proof prints. Moreover, the Polaroid Hi-Print continues to bridge the gap between instant photography and digital creativity; it is a premium 2×3 pocket printer that produces photos with stickered backs.

“Find it, print it, stick it: it’s that simple with the Polaroid Hi-Print; a friendly pocket printer that turns photos, screenshots and the digital world on your smartphone into high-quality, credit card-sized, self-adhesive prints,” the company announced.

As Polaroid expands its range of portable, easy-to-use mobile printers, dye-sublimation printing technology offers consistent and high-resolution photographs.

What’s more, the dye-sub printer is the first instant digital product Polaroid released since the company’s rebrand in March. That consolidation and rebrand marked the company’s dedication to all facets of the classic Polaroid experience: “Transforming memories into physical photos.”

With all-in-one cartridges, the Hi-Print printer uses heat to seal in the final image in under a minute, creating smudge- and water-resistant prints. Featuring an adhesive back, photos from the Polaroid printer can find their homes on lockers, scrapbooks and anywhere the user’s imagination takes them.

In addition, the new printer brings mobile photos and memories to life through the iOS and Android supported apps. The Polaroid Hi-Print app allows users to further unleash their creativity with a suite of photo-editing tools; they include filters, overlays, frames, text, as well as stickers. The app is a free download from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

For premium prints, the new Polaroid printer uses 2.1×3.4-inch (54×86mm) paper cartridges. The all-in-one cartridge contains a color ribbon as well as 10 sheets of dye-sub photo paper. As a result, the mess-free cartridge eliminates the need for separate ink. In addition, there are two cartridges included in each package.

Furthermore, the printer, with the classic Polaroid color spectrum, offers wireless connectivity via Bluetooth technology. Also, its battery lasts for 20 prints.

The Polaroid Hi-Print 2×3 pocket photo printer has a suggested retail price of $99.99; a 20-print 2×3 paper cartridge sells for $16.99.
