White Plains, NY—Sekonic Corporation and Bron Elektronik AG jointly announced the Sekonic RT-BR wireless radio flash triggering module for broncolor-compatible flashes. In addition, Sekonic introduced a wireless radio flash triggering module for Godox compatible flashes.

“Together with broncolor, we are proud to announce the Sekonic RT-BR transmitter module for the L-858D-U light meter. This collaboration brings a fully integrated light metering workflow to broncolor users; it makes it possible for them to measure effortlessly, control and analyze the characteristics of flash like never before,” said Kenji Sawai, director and general manager, Sekonic.

Sekonic RT-BR Transmitter

The Sekonic RT-BR transmitter is a user-replaceable radio module that fits next to the batteries in the Speedmaster L-858D-U light meter. Users can upgrade the L-858D-U’s firmware via Sekonic Data Transfer software.

Sekonic’s mission is to enable image makers to craft great light in every image. To this end, the Sekonic RT-BR simplifies the process. It helps users quickly dial in their lighting recipe to get to the final image.

Using the new transmitter, broncolor users can call upon 99 radio studio addresses (1–99) and 40 lamp addresses (1–40, All) to remotely trigger their broncolor lights up to 100 feet away. They can also wirelessly control the power of flash lights.

In addition, broncolor users can more easily measure the percentage of flash in their images to maintain the desired mix of ambient and flash. They can also measure flash duration. Moreover, they can determine how much stopping power their lights have to freeze the splash from a product shot, for instance.

“The excitement is real. broncolor users have always been on the cutting edge of lighting. They demand products that perform under the most stressful conditions with precise results. We believe this RT-BR transmitter with the L-858D light meter will not only meet but exceed their expectations,” added Sawai.

The Sekonic RT-BR transmitter ships in November 2020 with an SRP of $149.

Sekonic RT-GX Transmitter

Further, Sekonic announced their collaboration to offer wireless radio flash triggering of Godox-compatible flashes. The Sekonic RT-GX transmitter is also a user-replaceable radio module that fits next to the batteries in the Speedmaster L-858D-U light meter. Again, users can upgrade the L-858D-U’s firmware via Data Transfer software.

“Together with Godox, we are proud to announce the Sekonic RT-GX transmitter module for the Sekonic L-858D(International) and L-858D-U (USA) light meters. This collaboration brings a fully integrated light metering workflow to Godox users; it makes it possible for them to measure effortlessly, control and analyze the characteristics of flash,” commented Sawai.

With the RT-GX, Godox users can call upon all 32 channels (1–32), 16 groups (A-F, 0–9) and wireless IDs to remotely trigger Godox-compatible lights 100 feet away. In addition, they can wirelessly control the power of modeling lights.

Main Features

Moreover, Godox users can now measure the power of high-speed sync (HSS). They can tell the meter the ISO and shutter speed, and it will do the rest. What’s more, they can more easily measure the percentage of flash in their images; this enables them to maintain the desired mix of ambient and flash.

“We love how supportive and active Godox users are. Sharing lighting diagrams, images and BTS setups with others. We look forward to Sekonic being the measuring spoon to their lighting recipes,” concluded Sawai.

The Sekonic RT-GX transmitter will also ship in November 2020. $149.
