Due to its smooth pan-and-tilt movements, in addition to video and photo applications, the SVH-520 is also a solution for use with spotting scopes and binoculars.
The fluid head weighs in at 1.2 pounds, yet it can support up to 8.8 pounds of gear. Moreover, a built-in counterbalance spring creates an appropriate repulsive force, enabling precise tilt action.
Its tilt action combines with a smooth left to right pan. Further, you can position the angled pan handle for either left- or right-hand control. In addition, it rotates a 360º. Consequently, you can best position the handle’s angle for any situation. You can also remove the handle to save space.
Furthermore, the head uses Slik’s Arca-compatible quick-release system for easy mounting and removal from a camera. The QR plate has a folding wing nut to rotate the standard 1/4-20″ thread post onto the camera. No tool is needed to attach or detach it from a camera.
Moreover, included in the box are 3/8-16 and 1/4-20 mounting points to screw onto the tripod. The 1/4-20 option requires a simple screw-in adapter.
