San Jose, CA—Samsung Galaxy S23 series smartphones now benefit from Adobe Lightroom professional photo editing tools. Lightroom is the exclusive default photo editor for RAW photos taken with the Expert RAW app.
The Expert RAW app, available exclusively on Samsung Galaxy, enables DSLR-style image shooting and editing in RAW and JPEG. Once they download Expert RAW, users can access its functionality through the native Camera app on the Galaxy S23 series.
For an enhanced Galaxy ecosystem experience, Samsung Galaxy Book3 Ultra and Pro series PCs will automatically transfer Expert RAW images from Galaxy S23 devices. Consequently, users can edit images on Adobe Lightroom for professional-level results.
“We’re excited to see Samsung enhance the Expert RAW app as a native camera option, with Lightroom as the default and only photo editor,” said Scott Belsky, chief product officer and executive vice president, Creative Cloud at Adobe.
“The combination of Expert RAW with Lightroom’s powerful yet accessible editing tools, presets and tutorials give anyone the ability to make professional-level enhancements to their images.”
Adobe Lightroom Professional Photo Editing
Available for smartphones, tablets and PCs, Lightroom endows users with AI-powered professional, Photoshop-class editing tools. They include image healing, lens correction as well as detail enhancement.
Across every platform, Lightroom edits photos in numerous formats, including RAW and JPEG. Additionally, it offers mobile users speed and ease on the go, with added control during editing sessions on larger screens.
As the only photo editor directly integrated with the Expert RAW app, Lightroom permits Galaxy S23 series owners to start editing RAW photos with a tap. It’s built with presets and tutorials for hobbyists as well as advanced detail enhancement technologies for pros.
Users will also benefit from Lightroom’s image processing, straightforward controls and flexibility. For example, differentiators such as cloud storage allow users to instantly send their RAW photos to the cloud. As a result, they can free up smartphone space while unlocking synchronized editing across other devices.
Compressed image formats, including JPG and HEIF, can limit both the quality of photos and users’ ability to edit fine details. However, new camera technology in Samsung’s Galaxy S23 series delivers the highest resolution and image quality in Galaxy history.
It includes support for higher resolution and uncompressed 16-bit RAW images. In addition, it permits superior astrophotography and multi-exposure performance.
Lightroom offers end-to-end editing tools that take advantage of the dynamic range of data available in RAW photos. Using Lightroom’s features—including thousands of one-click image improvement presets, sharpening and smoothing, masking, color correction, noise reduction as well as automatic version saving—mobile photographers of all skill levels can take control of their photos wherever they are.
The Lightroom Community
In addition, Lightroom welcomes users to join its community. Helping photographers take their skills to the next level, Lightroom community benefits include:
- Discover lets users find and follow other photographers to get inspiration.
- Users can share their work through web galleries.
- Lightroom Academy offers tutorials so non-pros can take their skills up a notch, while pros can continue learning how best to edit their RAW images with the latest tips and tricks.
The Lightroom Creative Community also features Lightroom Ambassadors. They comprise a unique, inclusive and supportive community with a diverse set of skills, interests and identities. Moreover, they are dedicated to learning and sharing photographic expression.
