San Jose, CA—Adobe announced an intuitive new audio experience with Adobe Premiere Pro updates (beta) that make editing faster and easier. Moreover, the goal is to save experienced professionals valuable time while enabling newcomers to quickly access the tools they need.

Available now in beta, Premiere Pro’s new innovations include interactive fade handles on clips in the timeline. This will allow editors to click and drag to create a variety of custom audio fades. Additionally, new AI-powered audio category tagging automatically identifies and labels clips with icons for dialogue, music, sound effects or ambient noise. Thus, it gives editors one-click access to the most relevant tools for each type of audio. Further, redesigned clip badges make it easier to see which clips have effects, quickly add effects or adjust effect settings. Adobe-Premiere-Pro-updates-2

“Sound creates meaning and adds impact to film and video. It has the power to help tell a story and move us in ways visuals alone cannot,” said Ashley Still, senior vice president and general manager, Adobe Creative Cloud. “We’re proud to empower filmmakers with new workflows that make editing audio more intuitive. So, whether they’re new to audio or experienced pros, Premiere Pro makes it faster and easier to find the perfect tool.”

In addition to the new audio features now available in Premiere Pro (beta), Adobe’s AI-powered Enhance Speech tool will also become generally available to all Premiere Pro customers in February. Premiere Pro’s new audio workflows aim to give content creators what they need to control and improve the quality of their sound. Consequently, the latest features include interactive fade handles. Editors can create custom audio transitions faster by dragging clip handles to create audio fades. Furthermore, the updates include new essential sound badge with audio category tagging. AI automatically tags audio clips as dialogue, music, sound effects or ambience. Additionally, it adds a new icon, so editors get one-click access to the right controls for the job.

In addition, new visual indicators make it easier to see which clips have effects and quickly add new ones. They also automatically open effect parameters right from the sequence. What’s more, there are redesigned waveforms in the timeline. As a result, waveforms now intelligently resize as the track height changes on clips, while new colors make sequences easier to read.
