In a move that could change the face of mobile software, Microsoft and Nokia announced a deal Wednesday to place Office software on Nokia’s phones, CNET first reported Wednesday.

The move is seen as an attempt to steal some enterprise business away from Research in Motion’s BlackBerry platform. The first Office application to appear on Nokia phones will be the Mobile Communicator instant-messenging client, which will make its Nokia debut next year.
