Portland, OR—ON1 released ON1 Photo RAW 2020.1. The photo-editing software upgrade includes many new user interface updates. It also comprises new features and performance enhancements, along with new camera and lens support.

The update is free for all owners of ON1 Photo RAW 2020. New features added in version 2020.1 also make it easier for new users to get up and running with no previous experience. Plus, the new iteration offers advanced editing technologies power.

ON1 Photo RAW 2020.1 Enhancements

Among the release’s upgrades are improved highlight recovery. A newly developed algorithm is used to get the most out of highlights while maintaining subtle hues in areas like the sky. In addition, a new map is provided to give higher quality maps and much-improved search results. There’s also a new location tab in the metadata pane, and users can sync location metadata across multiple photos.

What’s more, the focus stacking algorithm was updated with new options to give users better control of the output. And in single image edit mode, a new workflow for quickly editing single photos is now available. Users can either drag the photo onto the app (or send it from another app like a plug-in) and go straight into edit. The results are still saved nondestructively, and it also saves a finished file automatically.

Furthermore, fast browse and cataloged folders modes were separated into their own tabs in Browse. And a new copy to the catalog folders works like a quick import to copy photos from anywhere to where users ultimately want to keep them.

Other improvements include adding a simple search to the breadcrumbs bar at the top of Browse. Users can also choose which cataloged folders to search, instead of all of them. And if users come back from a shoot and have hundreds or even thousands of photos in the same folder, it’s now faster to scroll through them and see thumbnails.

Moreover, for new users of ON1 Photo RAW, the company has made it much easier to get up and running. A getting started dialog guides them through the process of finding photos and making first edits.

In addition, the new software version adds support for even more cameras.
