Phoenix, AZ—Tether Tools introduced the latest version of its customizable Smart Shooter tethered capture software. Adding to the workflow tool for commercial photographers, Tether Tools Smart Shooter 5 now supports Fujifilm cameras. In addition, it allows multi-camera tethering for 10 cameras and bulk QR/barcode workflows. The fifth release is a stand-alone capture tool for Fujifilm, Sony, Nikon as well as Canon users.
Moreover, Smart Shooter 5 is built on each camera’s Picture Transfer Protocol (PTP). Consequently, it offers increased reliability, faster image transfer, faster import, more camera control and more advanced features built in for each supported camera.

Tether Tools Smart Shooter 5 New Features
Among the software’s upgrades is MyWorkspaces. The customizable docking window lets you tailor your viewing and camera control interfaces. You can also save them for unique types of shoots. Additionally, HiDPI display support ensures detail for shot previews and RAW or JPEG transfers.
Moreover, with the multi-camera function, you can connect up to 10 cameras at once for multi-angle shoots. This is a solution for product shots, 3D modeling, as well as book scanning. Helping to reduce time and increase productivity, you can now also group 2–10 cameras to capture simultaneously or run scripts for sequencing. The multi-workspace interface can show up to four cameras in live view mode while tethering. Plus, you can trigger it by camera, software or remote trigger.
In addition, Smart Shooter 5 offers an enhanced QR/barcoding workflow for photographers looking for better organization of data during a shoot. Photographers shooting subjects like product, cultural heritage and portraits in volume can save information to the image file name or metadata upon capture. Further, SmartSave now gives you the ability to save to multiple locations (card, computer, cloud file services) simultaneously to manage files the way you want. You can also sort and store files in folders by camera type, name, group or data.

What’s more, Smart Shooter 5 combines previous Tether Tools’ Pro software and standard level features into one software. Smart Shooter 5 includes 10 native scripts for time lapse, bulb time and HDR. It also offers the ability to import custom scripts to simplify technical shooting projects. Features like live view overlay mode and exchanging data between multiple points via an open API integration are also included in Smart Shooter 5.
Tether Tool’s Smart Shooter 5 perpetual license has a suggested retail price of $99 for one camera. Each additional camera is $99, with up to 10 connected cameras on one license. Additionally, you may load each license on three computers. Further, each purchase grants a fully licensed version of Smart Shooter 5 that includes the Adobe Lightroom plug-in and Tether Tools Bulk QR Code Generator.
