San Jose, CA—At the 2024 NAB Show, April 13-17, 2024, Booth #SL5041, South Hall in Las Vegas, Western Digital is unveiling a lineup of technologies and new storage solutions for media and entertainment (M&E) workflows. They include SanDisk super speed and higher capacity solutions.

SanDisk SD/microSD Express

Western Digital is revealing its next-gen SanDisk SD as well as microSD Express portfolio. It now boasts a higher level of performance for current and future applications requiring faster storage solutions that reduce the time it takes to access and save data. The new SD Express cards also feature SanDisk ThermAdapt technology with a specially designed enclosure and adaptive thermal managed controller. Western Digital expects to make SanDisk SD and microSD Express cards available at authorized retailers, e-tailers and the Western Digital store this summer.

  • SanDisk SD Express (128GB/256GB). This new solution offers up to 4.4 times faster transfer speeds than Western Digital’s fastest SD UHS-I card. The card is for data-intensive workflows and high-performance cameras as well as other compatible devices. It is also backward compatible with today’s devices and ready for future use.
  • SanDisk microSD Express (128GB/256GB). This line also boasts up to 4.4 times faster transfer speeds than Western Digital’s fastest microSD UHS-I card. With more speed, storage as well as performance for pros dealing with intensive workflows, it is also backward compatible.
SanDisk Extreme Pro

The company also realizes that M&E professionals who create high-resolution videos with state-of-the art cameras, action cams and drones can be limited if they don’t have sufficient storage. To help pros evolve their creative process, Western Digital is announcing new Extreme Pro memory cards at NAB: SanDisk-2TB-Extreme-PRO-SD-SanDisk super speed

  • 2TB SanDisk Extreme Pro SDXC UHS-I. Touted the world’s first 2TB UHS-I SDXC card, it offers higher storage capacity to capture more high-resolution images and record more 4K videos on one card.
  • 2TB SanDisk Extreme Pro microSDXC UHS-I. This is Western Digital’s first and fastest 2TB UHS-I microSD card. The high-capacity card is for devices with microSD slots to capture more content. The 2TB memory cards will ship this summer.
  • 4TB SanDisk Extreme Pro SDUC UHS-I. This first-ever 4TB UHS-I SD card delivers a huge amount of capacity in the same-sized SD form factor. It leverages the SDUC standard (Secure Digital Ultra Capacity), which enables up to 128TB. Western Digital will release this new card in 2025. SanDisk-4TB-Extreme-PRO-SD-SanDisk super speed

In addition, SanDisk Professional’s lineup of premium-grade desktop hard drive solutions now features 24TB enterprise-class 7200 RPM Ultrastar drives. As a result, they will better support demanding 4K, 8K and VR video workflows.
