The 6Sight Conference continues to announce exciting and provocative sessions for the event scheduled for November 8-9 in Monterey, California. Among the many programs scheduled will be one on the implications of the explosive worldwide mainstreaming of image capture and communication, driven by miniaturization, decreasing costs and communication network. The day two morning keynote will be given by Philippe Kahn, CEO of Fullpower Technologies, Inc. Known to many as “the father of the camera-phone,” Philippe presents the day’s opening Keynote Address entitled “Three Billion Camera-Phones Later: The Instant Visual Revolution.”

Kahn’s keynote is followed by an Analyst Roundtable panel, where the leading imaging analyst firms will debate their views on the most significant opportunity and/or challenge in the industry, with a 2010 horizon. Moderated by Kristy Holch, founder of InfoTrends and independent writer, and analyst, the discussion features: Steve Hoffenberg, Director, Consumer Imaging Research, Lyra Research Inc; Ed Lee, Director of the U.S. Consumer Services and Director for the Digital Photography Trends Services, InfoTrends; Marion Knoche, Global Manager, GfK Marketing Services; Gary Pageau, Publisher, Content Development and Strategic Initiatives, PMA; Ron Glaz, Senior Research Analyst, Digital Cameras and Scanners, International Data Corp (IDC); and Paul Worthington, Lead Analyst for Consumer Markets with Future Image Inc. and Editor of The Future Image Report.

A Visual Storytelling session will explore new technologies that are enabling average people to easily and inexpensively tell their stories, not just through single images, but in sophisticated narrative forms. Presentations in this cluster will showcase initiatives that teach school-age kids to express themselves in photo book form, and leading-edge use of the Web as a distinct publishing medium for visual documentaries. Speakers, presenters and panelists include: Jamie Bardin, CEO, EZ Prints; Katrina Hooper-Woolsey, multimedia pioneer; Ed Monahan, Worldwide Strategy Director, Eastman Kodak Co.; Russell Sparkman, CEO, FusionSpark Media, Inc.; and Andy Wood, CEO and President, PhotoWorks.

The Mobile Imaging session will include new technology demonstrations, the annual “State of the Industry” presentation by Future Image Lead Analyst Tony Henning, Editor of The Mobile Imaging Report, and a panel discussion on the topic of “Mobile Imaging: Feast or Famine?” led by mobile imaging pioneer Pierre Barbeau, formerly of Sprint PCS where he launched the first camera phone on the U.S. market and Sprint’s revolutionary Picture Mail service – currently CEO of Moblico. Panelists include: Aaron Weiss, Director, Solution Marketing and Business Development, Digital Photography and Entertainment, Hewlett-Packard Company; Sang Hung, Chief Scientist of Device Ergonomics and User Interface, Sprint; Dean Tang, President and CEO, ABBYY USA Software House, Inc.; John George, Distinguished Member of the Technical Staff, Motorola Mobile Devices; and Tony Henning, Editor, The Mobile Imaging Report, Future Image.
