The idea of scheduling specific play lists and selecting from pre-recorded content for digital signage installations is getting easier all the time. A new HD Digital Signage Player from Gefen offers a variety of flexible functions that serve both large and small digital signage installations while controlling the content over IP.

Users can upload pre-recorded video in multiple formats, background music and scrolling text to customize their content. Play lists can be scheduled to the second using the calendar function, accessed on any computer using Windows XP, Vista or Windows 7 software.

The HD Digital Signage Player works with all popular video formats including MPEG1/2, DivX, Xvid, H.264 and WMV9, as well as MP3 audio files. Photos need to be in .jpg format. Its small metallic enclosure with built-in mounting brackets allows it to be conveniently mounted behind or near the display(s).

Equipped with HDMI and VGA/audio outputs, the HD Digital Signage Player outputs 1080p visuals for pure high definition imagery so pivotal to large digital signage displays. Users can upload content to the HD Digital Signage Player’s 2Gb flash drive using an Ethernet IP connection or USB ingestion to change play lists, content, scrolling text and music. An included IR remote gives control of additional functionality at the site. www.gefen.com
