“Girls Night Out” Concept Gaining Steam

More than 90 women attended a recent Girls Night Out at Calagaz Photo & Digital Imaging in Mobile, Ala., with the goal of helping them, “to learn how to create unique and exciting new products with their digital images.”

During the event, attendees learned how to create DVDs, scrapbooks, photo calendars, photo books, invitations, thank you cards, folded cards and a host of other personal photo gifts with eth help of Calagaz Photo & Digital Imaging staff. Attendees also could put their learning into immediate action, preserving their family memories in unique ways through the store’s nine digital print stations.

“This was our fourth Girls Night Out over the last 2 years, and each one continues to get even bigger and better,” said Pauline C. McKean VP of Sales. “We make it fun for women to make truly personal gifts for their families in a celebratory and relaxing environment.”

While enjoying wine from The House of Blends area the store had set up as well as a variety of hors d’oeuvres during the event, attendees also participated in a raffle for a pink Olympus FE340 digital camera and in a live auction for a suite at the Mobile Bay Bears, a hot Alabama coastal location. Natalie Coale from the American Cancer Society, who also participated, assured the crowd that the $1200 raised that night would stay in the Mobile area to help women with cancer.

Among the impressive array of imaging equipment Calagaz Photo & Digital Imaging were several new Lucidiom kiosks that spent the night cranking out a variety of gift items including personalized posters, collages, stationery, scrapbook pages and DVDs.

“My son is getting married in May, so I wanted to see how to make a DVD for the after-rehearsal party,” said Debi Wilkins, an attendee from The Girls Night Out at Calagaz. “It was quick and easy, and I had fun and learned from the staff and other attendees on what other types of gifts I.

Beyond the retail print portion of the service offerings, Calagaz has also added custom framing to help their customers properly preserve and display their memories. Calagaz also offers classes on how to take better digital photos and are structured to help their customers get the most value out of their digital camera.
