Canon recently marked an EF lens-manufacturing milestone: the production of the company’s 60-millionth lens, an EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6L IS USM.
The first such lens was made in 1987, with the company making the 40 millionth lens in 2008; Canon is now producing 10 million units per 13 months.
The newest such lens, the EF 8-15mm f/4L Fisheye USM will arrive next month.
