D&H Distributing this week reported 5.5 percent sales growth in the quarter ended July 31. The Pennsylvania-based distributor reported that such categories as notebooks, netbooks, DVD players, digital cameras and more did well with tis dealers and retailers during the quarter.

Sales of notebooks rose 49 percent in the quarter, D&H said, while DVD players rose 36 percent.

"D&H has proven its ability to draw successful numbers even in the worst recession in decades.  This is a result of its commitment to finding strategic opportunities that empower its customers to maintain their profitability," the company said in a statement.

"In keeping with this focus, D&H is looking at forthcoming growth areas and recession-resistant categories that can help dealers and retailers maximize their year-end sales in preparation for the holiday selling season."  

The company predicted that notebooks and netbooks, multi-function printers, LED TVs and voice over IP will be among top categories this holiday season.
