Delkin Devices this week announced a new external disc drive that uses Blu-ray technology. Meant to work with the company’s Archival Gold Blu-ray-recordable discs, the drive works at 4x write speed and is marketed towards professional photographers.
“Though we were first to market with truly archival grade BD-R discs, we noticed that there was a lack of drives available, especially drives capable of writing BD-Rs at 4x,” the company’s new product specialist, Kathleen Finlayson, said in a statement. “With our new drive and our Archival Gold BD-R media, photographers will finally be able to take advantage of Blu-ray technology in archiving their images.”
