Nikon announced this week the launch of four new imaging products, including a D-SLR, a new Speedlight flagship and a pair of new Micro PC-E lenses.

The D700 D-SLR, an update of the Nikon D3, is smaller and lighter, and also features Live View, automatic cleaning and weather sealing. The 12.1 megapixel camera will debut late this month at a suggested retail price of $2,999.95.

The SB-900 Speedlight camera, featuring a 17-200 foot zoom range and a higher-than-usual light output, will ship in August at an MSRP of $499.95.

The new PC-E Micro Nikkor lenses come in 45 and 85mm denominations, and join the previous 24mm version. They are set to arrive in August at retail prices of $1,739.95 and $1,799.95, respectively.

Nikon also recently announced that Petra Industries, a leading national wholesale distributor of consumer electronics, custom installation products, mobile audio/video accessories and appliance connection supplies, will begin distributing Nikon Sport Optics.

“By introducing Nikon Sport Optics, we’re further expanding our already impressive outdoor products inventory,” says Tate Morgan, Executive Vice President. “With a well-known name such as Nikon, our retail partners will have an added opportunity to serve their customers.”

Petra’s inventory of Nikon products—including rangefinders, binoculars and more—debuted in their Spring 2008 catalog which entered circulation in May.
